The Honourable Member Mrs. Nelsia Balisa-Lepathy, was born on the 23rd of September 1990 and is a life-long resident of Grand Anse Mahe. She is married and has one child. Her education began in her home district at Grand Anse Mahe Primary School, followed by Anse Boileau Secondary in her formative years. She then pursued and completed a Diploma in Education from the Seychelles Institute of Teacher Education (SITE).
From 2011 to 2020, Hon. Balisa-Lepathy was a dedicated teacher at Port Glaud Primary School where she taught at Early Childhood Level. She then progressed upwards in her career to become the Creche Teacher-in-Charge, where she took control over daily operations and led a team of Early Childhood Educators. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor in Education from the University of Seychelles, which she commenced in 2023.
Her political background began in the 4th Cohort of the Seychelles National Youth Assembly in 2006, where she was introduced to legislative debating and national policy. A grassroots activist for her party, Hon. Balisa-Lepathy was always actively involved in rallying her fellow United Seychelles (US) supporters, conducting insightful door-to-door conversations, and organising activities within the scope of her role as Chairperson of the Grand Anse Mahe Branch under US. She aspired to become the first woman to represent Grand Anse Mahe in parliament, and pledges to deliver on the goals of national development and support the initiatives of the government.
Hon. Balisa-Lepathy was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for her first parliamentary mandate, where she aims to amplify the voices of her constituency.
