On Friday 6th and Wednesday 11th of February 2026, interviews were conducted on the National Assembly Precinct, Ile Du Port, for the position of Mayor of Victoria. This followed an official State request that the members of the Association of Districts of Victoria (ADV) carry out the interviews and recommend three individuals from which the President of the Republic will appoint one successful candidate. The ADV Committee comprises Honourable Members who represent the eight Districts that make up Victoria, namely: Hon. Bernard Georges for Les Mamelles, Hon. Audrey Vidot for Roche Caiman, Hon. Trevor Louise for Bel Air, Hon. Sathya Naidu for St. Louis, Hon. Michel Roucou for Mont Fleuri, Hon. Robert David for Mont Buxton, Hon. Claudette Louise for Plaisance, and Hon. Andy Labonte for English River.

During discussions

Initially, the Committee received a total of seventeen applications for the position. Following the withdrawal of one candidate before the process began, a total of sixteen candidates followed the same interview procedures which consisted of an interactive interview with the panel, followed by a written test. All candidates will be awarded points based on their performance in both stages, with the three highest-scoring candidates receiving a recommendation on their appointment. This will be submitted to the Office of the President for final consideration and appointment of one candidate.
