During the session, delegates worked with experts in their respective fields, receiving results-based insights to support the drafting of declarations for the Commission des Personnes et des Espaces. Deliberations focused on tourism in the Indian Ocean region, examining its development prospects and the challenges it presents for youth, local cultures, and the environment, as well as on the socio-professional inclusion of young people as a fundamental condition for their physical and mental well-being.

Whilst in Mauritius the delegation had the chance to visit the headquarters of the Commission de L’Ocean Indien (COI) where they met with the Chargée de projets to explore future collaborations including opportunities for PRJIO members to serve as national ambassadors for COI projects. The session further resulted in the establishment of a PRJIO Communication Unit and the adoption of a Charter of Ethics, reinforcing good governance and ethical standards within the regional youth parliament, and ended with an engagement with DIS-MOI (Droits Humais Océan Indien) to further the delegates knowledge on human rights and learn of the work being done in the region.
