The National Assembly of Seychelles wishes to inform members of the public that the National Assembly Precinct, Ile Du Port, will be temporarily closed during the upcoming Recess Period to facilitate two essential infrastructure projects aimed upgrading the institution’s physical and digital capacity. The scheduled works include a comprehensive re-cabling project led by the IT Department, to enhance the building’s IT infrastructure, telecommunications equipment and security technologies, and a re-roofing project which will involve the removal of decommissioned solar panels and the installation of new roofing panels.

The renovation works will commence after the adjournment of the Assembly, on Saturday 9th August 2025, and are expected to last for approximately eight (8) weeks. Upon completion, the Precinct will undergo a deep cleaning process to remove hazardous dust and debris before being reopened for staff use. During the construction and cleaning period, the Precinct will be completely inaccessible to Honourable Members, Parliamentary Staff, visitors and all members of the public. This will ensure the safety and security of the site, as well as allowing authorized contractors to operate as efficiently as possible.

Members of the public who require the services of the National Assembly are kindly advised to contact staff via email or leave a message with the designated phone numbers as follows: Receptionist Ms. Samia Joseph (+248 2664025), Receptionist Ms. Vanessa Sinon (+248 2664130), and the Security Gate (+248 2661766).

In-person visits or calls via office landlines will not be possible during the closure.

The National Assembly wishes to reassure the public that parliamentary operations will continue uninterrupted throughout this period. Staff will be working remotely to ensure the continued delivery of services and communications. Further updates will be shared as the project progresses.
