On the morning of Monday 23rd July 2025, the newly appointed High Commissioner of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh to the Republic of Seychelles H.E. Mr. Zokey Ahad paid a Courtesy Call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles Hon. Roger Mancienne. The High Commissioner was accompanied by the First Secretary and Head of Chancery Md. Jahangir Alam.
The Hon. Speaker commenced the meeting by warmly welcoming the High Commissioner to the National Assembly. Hon. Mancienne and Mr. Ahad engaged in a brief discussion on the High Commissioner’s time in Seychelles since his arrival, including his recent accreditation.
Discussions then turned to the current political landscape of Bangladesh, with reference to the recently dissolved Parliament and the highly anticipated elections. High Commissioner Ahad shared his insights on the parallels between the two nations, and expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening bilateral relations in the coming future. He also highlighted the importance of parliamentary exchanges and benchmarking activities for both Honourable Members and staff, expressing a sincere hope that such collaboration could be pursued once Bangladesh’s Parliament is re-established.
Hon. Mancienne welcomed the prospect of continued engagement with Bangladesh and conveyed his best wishes to the High Commissioner in his new role. The meeting concluded with an exchange of tokens of appreciation, and a souvenir photograph
