On the afternoon of Tuesday 23rd April 2024, the newly accredited Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Seychelles H.E. Mr. Mohammed Mutair Ammash Al-Shamlani Al-Enazi paid a Courtesy Call on the Speaker of the National Assembly Hon. Roger Mancienne. The Speaker was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker Hon. Gervais Henrie, Clerk to the National Assembly Mrs. Tania Isaac, and Deputy Clerk Ms. Alexandria Faure.
The Ambassador thanked Hon. Mancienne for the opportunity to meet and discuss the plans for his tenure as Ambassador and liaison between the State of Qatar and Seychelles. Ambassador Al-Enazi emphasised his interest in strengthening the existing relationship between the two countries, and promoting the mutual interests shared. A dedicated focus will be given to the completion of all projects in Seychelles under the auspices of the State of Qatar, with the Ambassador noting that “there is a hope that there are more projects to come in the future”.
Hon. Mancienne thanked the Ambassador for his visit and robust plans to continue the positive rapport of both countries and remarked that the history of the Qatar – Seychelles friendship had always been a positive force for good. Discussions on the accessibility and ease of travel to Qatar was noted, with the Hon. Speaker commenting that there was a considerable number of Seychellois travelling or living in Qatar in recent years.
Hon. Mancienne then wished the Ambassador well in his term and presented him with a token of appreciation, before the meeting concluded.
