On the morning of Friday 30th June 2023, the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Health Care Agency (HCA), Mr. Danny Louange. Members of the FPAC present were the Leader of the Opposition and Chairperson of FPAC Hon. Sebastien Pillay, Vice-Chairperson Hon. Terence Mondon, Hon. Richard Labrosse, Hon. George Romain, Hon. Conrad Gabriel, and Hon. Sandy Arissol.

 

 

The FPAC was primarily concerned with the donation of a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine in accordance with bilateral agreements. Members were given the opportunity to pose questions concerning the new MRI and steps being taken in preparation for its arrival and subsequent use. Subsequently, the FPAC will be meeting with the Ministry for Finance regarding the status of the SCR50 million allocation in the supplementary budget of 2022 for the procurement of a new MRI.

 

 

The FPAC also sought an update on the implementation of projects under the purview of the HCA.
