The Newly Accredited High Commissioner of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Seychelles, H.E Mr. Muhammed Arshad Jan paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Gervais Henrie on Thursday 13th October 2022. Deputy Speaker Henrie was accompanied by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mrs. Tania Isaac.

During the meeting, both the High Commissioner and the Deputy Speaker discussed areas of cooperation between the two countries including trade, parliamentary diplomacy, political leadership and maritime security. In addition, the High Commissioner stated that Seychelles and Pakistan will be aiming to sign various MoU’s in different areas of cooperation.

The Deputy Speaker informed Mr. Arshad Jan that the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Hon. Roger Mancienne is presently heading a delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly in Rwanda and has accepted the invitation for a side meeting with the delegation from Pakistan.

Mr. Arshad Jan discussed the possibility of parliamentary exchanges between the two parliaments to build partnerships and network to foster solidarity.
