Mr. Dominique Mas, the Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Seychelles paid a farewell Courtesy Call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Hon. Roger Mancienne on Thursday 15th September, 2022. The Speaker was accompanied by Mrs. Tania Isaac, the Clerk to the National Assembly and Ms. Alexandria Faure, the Deputy Clerk.

Ambassador Mas spoke about certain successes of the Embassy during his tenure, which although had been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, many projects were implemented. The Ambassador highlighted the warmth of the Seychellois people and certain areas such as the environment, the rights of women and children, as well as deepened exchanges with the legislature as priority areas he hopes the next Ambassador will take up. The Speaker thanked Ambassador Mas for the immense contributions that have been made to Seychelles and wished him all the very best in his next endeavor. 

Both dignitaries spoke on the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed the need to further enhance the collaborative relationship between the two Parliaments.

The Ambassador also met with Members of the Women’s Parliamentary Caucus and the Leader of the Opposition, Hon. Sebastien Pillay as part of his farewell meetings.
