The Honourable Member Hon. Wavel Woodcock was born on 6th March 1982. He began his education at Grand Anse Praslin Primary School and completed his secondary studies at Praslin Secondary School in 1997, before attending the National Youth Service (NYS) and later the Seychelles Polytechnic, where he completed his Ordinary Level and IGCSE, as well as studies in Community Studies.

He holds a Diploma in Marketing Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Before entering politics, Hon. Woodcock was actively involved in civil society, working with various NGOs and religious organisations. He also served as a Commissioner for the Civil Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS). Prior to joining politics in 2015, he held the position of Project and Communication Manager with the Seychelles Children’s Foundation.

Hon. Woodcock was first elected as the Member of the National Assembly for Grand Anse Praslin in 2016 and re-elected in 2020. During the 7th National Assembly, he served as Chairperson of the Media, Youth, Sports and Culture Committee (MYSCC), Vice-Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee (IAC), and as a Member of the Pan-African Parliament, where he was elected Vice-President of the Youth Caucus.

He is an Executive Member of the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa (LDS) political party and was sworn in as a Proportionate Member of the 8th National Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, marking his third parliamentary mandate.
