The Honourable Member Mrs. Sandra Sultan, née Boniface, was born on the 31st of March 1971, and was raised in the vibrant community of Anse Aux Pins where she now resides with her three children.
Her educational journey began in her local Primary and Secondary schools of Anse Aux Pins where she was instilled with the values of lifelong learning and public service. She was enrolled in the National Youth Service between 1987 and 1988, where she was inspired to pursue further studies in Agriculture at the Seychelles Polytechnic. It was here where she achieved various qualifications including a Diploma 1 and Diploma 2 in Agriculture and a Certificate in Advanced Livestock Husbandry. Her academic career culminated in the achievement of a Bachelor of Education from Edith Cowan University in 2004, guiding her into further development of her teaching career. Hon. Sultan held various positions ranging from humble beginnings as a supply teacher to leadership positions such as Head of Cycle at Secondary Level and Head of the Apprenticeship Programme at the School of Agriculture. During such time, Hon. Sultan attended a variety of professional development courses and international conferences to enhance both her specialised and inter-personal skills.
Her transition into the political sphere began in 2016 where she stood as a candidate for the Seychelles Patriotic Movement. Throughout her life, Hon. Sultan has always maintained positive connections within her community and is open to volunteering and working closely with members of her constituency. Her journey from education to the legislature reflects a deep commitment to empowering her community and shaping the future of the nation.
Hon. Sultan was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for her first parliamentary mandate. She aims to realise an improvement in our education and social services to benefit our young people, as well as enhance the voice of women in politics.
