The Honourable Member Mr. Michel Roucou was born on the 16th of August 1985 and resides with his wife and three children. He was raised and educated in the District of Mont Fleuri, where he still resides today. His foundational education was undertaken at the Seychelles Polytechnic Industrial Training Centre (ITC), where he gained vocational and technical training.
His career spanned several industries, beginning with a brief stint as a carpenter at Hari Builders. He then entered the security and enforcement sector where he held positions such as Aviation Security Officer, followed by Airport Policeman. Hon. Roucou also entered the real estate and housing sector as he took up the post of Community Relations Officer for the Housing Finance Company Ltd. (HFC), and Compliance Officer for the Property Management Corporation (PMC).
In a role that directly serves his community and the nation at large, Hon. Roucou is a driver for the Mortuary and Padayachy’s Funeral Parlour, ensuring that deceased members of the community and grieving families are served with compassion and respect during their most sensitive moments.
His entry into the political sphere began as a young age, where he was an activist who rallied supporters for the then-Opposition Party. He successfully secured a seat in the 2020 election, for the Mont Fleuri District under the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa Party. During the 7th Assembly, Hon. Roucou was a Member of the Defence and Security Committee.
Hon. Roucou was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for his second parliamentary mandate.
