The Honourable Member Mr. John Hoareau was born on the 31st of January 1969. His educational career began at the Polytechnic School of Humanities and Sciences, followed by the completion of a Diploma in Science Education from the School of Education and Community Studies in 1990. He later pursued a Bachelor of Education from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom.
In the pursuit of his further academic development, Hon. Hoareau completed a Master of Business Administration with Distinction from the University of West Scotland (UWS). Upon his return to Seychelles, Hon. Hoareau dedicated 23 years to the advancement of national education by teaching at schools across Mahe and La Digue, as well as gaining teaching experience during a brief stint at the Salisbury School, London. He is also an Associate Lecturer with the University of Seychelles in the Business Faculty.
His entry into politics began in 2012, as an Executive Member of the Seychelles National Party (SNP). With a driving force to make changes on the legislative level, Hon. Hoareau successfully stood in the 2016 elections for the Beau Vallon District under the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa Party.
He was then re-elected in the 2020 elections. During the 7th Assembly, Hon. Hoareau was the Vice-Chairperson of the Scrutiny of Bills Committee, and a Member of the Committee for Communicable Diseases, HIV/AIDS, and Sexual Reproductive Health Rights.
Hon. Hoareau was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for his third parliamentary mandate.
