The Honourable Member Mr. Georges Romain was born on the 12th of December 1969 and is resident of Anse Etoile. Hon. Romain is married with two children and sees himself as a down-to-earth individual that is able to communicate with people from all different backgrounds and walks of life.
He began his career in the aviation industry, working for Air Seychelles in 1989, at the age of 20. He then amplified his experience by moving between other noteworthy travel agencies such as Mason’s Air Travel, Orchid Travel, Seashell Travel, and finally SilverPearl Tours & Travel in which he took up the role as Managing Director. At the height of his career in tourism, he became the Head of General Sales for Kenya Airways. This was followed by a stint at international travel agency American Express in 2003 as a Travel Consultant, where Hon. Romain was based in the United Kingdom. He then relocated back to Seychelles and was eventually approached by the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa Party to participate in the 2020 election to represent the Anse Etoile District.
Hon. Romain expressed that throughout his life he maintained a steady interest in the political landscape and developments in Seychelles, despite never actively participating. It was his personal driving force to make a change and contribute to national development that led him to change his career, put his candidature forward, and successfully secure his seat as an Elected Member.
During the 7th Assembly, Hon. Romain was a Member of the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) and the Media, Youth, Sports and Culture Committee (MYSCC).
Hon. Romain was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for his second parliamentary mandate.
