The Honourable Member Mr. Francois Adelaide was born on the 28th of May 1974 and is a resident of Baie Lazare. His ambition to enter the medical practice was supplemented through his education, in which he completed his studies at the School of Nursing in 1996. Following the achievement of a Certificate in General Nursing, Hon. Adelaide was employed as a Nurse for the Ministry of Health from 1997 to 2001.
In 2002, Hon. Adelaide decided to change career paths and established a self-employed career as a Motor Vehicle Trader for the following 13 years. Throughout his life, Hon. Adelaide expressed a constant interest in political developments and community service, finding ways to positively impact his district. His formal entry into politics was during the 2016 elections, where he made the decision to put forward his candidature for the Baie Lazare District under the Linyon Demokratik Seselwa Party, which was successful. During this time, he engaged with constituents through political activism, door-to-door activities, and continued his community service. Hon. Adelaide enjoys playing music and meeting with his constituents to encourage business opportunities and independence, be it economically and socially.
Hon. Adelaide was successfully re-elected in the 2020 election. During the 7th Assembly, Hon. Adelaide was a Member of the Committee on Communicable Disease, HIV/AIDS, and Sexual Reproductive Health, and Vice-Chairperson of the Defence and Security Committee (DSC).
