The Honourable Member Ms. Claudette Louise was born on the 3rd of June 1974. Growing up the eldest of three daughters, Hon. Louise spent her childhood in Anse Aux Pins, before her family relocated to La Louise, where she still resides today with her partner and son.
Hon. Louise formed part of the final generation of students to complete two years of service in the National Youth Service program, before continuing her educational career at the Seychelles Polytechnic. Here she specialised in Secretarial Studies, which would form the basis of her early career. Hon. Louise joined the Ministry of Local Government, Youth and Sports as a Clerk/Typist, before being quickly promoted to the post of Liaison Officer. In 2010, she was approached to take on the role of District Administrator for the Plaisance District, after years of dedicated and balanced work within the Ministry. She continued her service until the restructure of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs in 2021 saw her rotated to become the District Administrator for the Les Mamelles District.
Hon. Louise emphasises that her 29-year career within the Ministry of Local Government was deeply enriching and fulfilling, with various avenues for local and international exposure, as well as opportunities to interact with a variety of societal groups including the elderly, persons with disabilities, children, and more. Her qualifications include a Certificate in General Management and pursued a Diploma in District Administration, a benchmarking and exchange with Local Government and District Council representatives in Mauritius, and participation in the African Women in Dialogue (AWID) in Johannesburg.
Hon. Louise was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for her first parliamentary mandate.
