The Honourable Member Mr. Churchill Gill was born on the 18th of February 1965 and is a resident of Baie St. Anne Praslin. Hon. Gill’s broad educational career began with the completion of his studies in Business Economics, Business Law, and Finance Management from the Seychelles Institute of Management in 1994. In 1997, he then went on to complete a certification in Empowered Executive Management.
His vocational career spanned the tourism sector, where he began at Seychelles Hotels Limited as the Head of the Finance Department. Hon. Gill then joined the Berjaya Beach Resort, where he maintained his role as Head of Finance for 5 years. He then moved up the ranks and took up the role of General Manager, a position which he held for 21 years. At any one given time during a three-year period, Hon. Gill was responsible for the management of three resorts in Seychelles, namely Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay, Berjaya Mahe Beach, and Berjaya Praslin.
Despite having no prior ties to politics, in 2016 Hon. Gill was approached by then-President James Michel to participate in the elections. Hon. Gill made the affirmative decision to put forward his candidature under the Seychelles People’s Progressive Front (SPPF), in order to give a voice to the voiceless and contribute to the development of his district and country through legislative office. In 2020, Hon. Gill was once again successfully elected as the Member for the Baie St. Anne Praslin District under the United Seychelles Party. During the 7th Assembly, Hon. Gill was a Member of the Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC), Scrutiny of Bills Committee, and the Defence and Security Committee (DSC). He was also a Committee Member and Vice-Chairperson within the African, Caribbean & Pacific States – EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (ACP-EU).
Hon. Gill was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for his third parliamentary mandate.
