The Honourable Member Mr. Alvin Grandcourt was born on the 15th of December 1974 and currently resides in Grand Anse Praslin.
Hon. Grandcourt’s early education began in Sri Lanka, where he completed his studies up to Grade 5, before relocating and continuing his education at the Seychelles Polytechnic. His academic and professional journey reflect a spirit of perseverance and adaptability that has guided his diverse career path. He gained experience in a variety of sectors including tourism and hospitality, where he operated within travel agencies nationally and internationally. He then broadened his professional expertise through the management of a marina on Eden Island after joining Hunt Deltel & Co Ltd. In 2014, he moved to Praslin, where his focus shifted increasingly toward community engagement and local development.
Hon. Grandcourt’s political experience spans many years, as an active member and activist of the United Seychelles Party. He served dually as the Chairperson for Grand Anse Praslin, and as a Member of the Party’s Central Committee. In 2020, he stood as a candidate for the Grand Anse Praslin constituency, marking his continued dedication to public service and community development. Despite being unsuccessful in securing his seat, he continued to represent and defend the interests of his community. He is deeply committed to being a voice for the people, working to realise their dreams and aspirations, and contributing to good governance and the betterment of his district. Known for his easy-going and approachable nature, Hon. Grandcourt believes in remaining grounded and connected with the people he serves and the nation of Seychelles.
Hon. Grandcourt was sworn in as a Member of the 8th Assembly on Tuesday 28th of October 2025, for his first parliamentary mandate.
