Message of Peace

On this occasion, the Defence and Security Committee of the National Assembly extend its best wishes to the People of Seychelles on the International Day of Peace and Happy Police Day to the Seychelles Police Force.

Celebrating this day of peace keeps reminding the Seychellois people of the sensitivity and importance of peace in our society and the world as a whole. The fragility of peace is in each and everyone hands and should be valued with utmost respect, especially our Leaders worldwide.

Complimenting the efforts of keeping the peace and stability for progression involves all the Law Enforcement Agencies engaged in this endeavor. Our women and men in uniform, or those supporting otherwise, be it from the Seychelles Defence Forces which now has a constitutional mandate of assisting the Police, Intelligence Units and the Seychelles Police Force, form part of this noble profession of policing to ensure peace for all the people of Seychelles and its most welcomed visitors. To reciprocate, the Committee also calls on each and every citizen to admire this noble profession and give the Police due respect, noting that the police are the public and the public are the police, thus a duty obligatory on every citizen in the interests of the community.

The Defence and Security Committee recognizes the complexity of the responsibilities entrusted in Law Enforcement, dedicated and committed to take care of us all and therefore salute all Officers for their hard work, bravery and strength. The Committee further expresses its extreme thanks to all who are always there to keep us safe in all circumstances.

Happy Police Day and Joyful International Peace Day.
