The new Chargé d’Affaires to the Embassy of the United States of America to Seychelles, Mr. Satrajit Sardar, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne on Monday 12th September 2022. The Speaker was accompanied by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Gervais Henrie, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mrs. Tania Isaac and the Deputy Clerk, Ms. Alexandria Faure.

The courtesy call involved discussions on the re-alignment of the bilateral relationship between the Seychelles and the United States of America. Mr. Sardar provided the Speaker with a detailed update on the strategic aims of the Embassy and the re-energised front that will soon roll into action. Speaker Mancienne explained further on the Assembly’s commitment to work and engage with the embassy.

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Gervais Henrie stated that the value of educational exchanges be not overlooked as it has benefitted many officials of whom are now in leadership positions in Seychelles. Mr Sardar highlighted the core common values for further collaboration in areas such as maritime security, education and climate change which would further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two states.  Both Speaker Mancienne and Mr Sardar spoke on the longstanding bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed the need to further enhance the collaborative relationship with the Parliament through exchanges and other areas of interests.
