A parliamentary delegation headed by H.E Mrs. Fadika Sako, the Deputy Speaker of the Ivory Coast Senate, is in the country to participate in the 5th Edition of the International Forum of Victoria. The group paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the National Assembly of Seychelles, Hon. Roger Mancienne yesterday.

The Speaker was accompanied by Hon. Waven William, the Chairperson of the International Affairs Committee (IAC), Hon. Egbert Aglae, Hon Phillip Monthy, Hon. Wallace Cosgrow, Hon. Naddy Zialor and the clerk of the National Assembly Mrs. Tania Isaac.

The Speaker of the Assembly expressed his appreciation for meeting the delegation to exchange parliamentary experiences of experience of the National Assembly, Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). All parties discussed the important matter of women in politics, especially, women parliamentarians. Countries have made tremendous progress in terms of representation of women in parliament but there’s room for improvement.

The delegation also had the opportunity to take a tour of the parliamentary museum and chamber of the House.

The delegation visiting this morning comprised of Mrs. Richmond Ahoua Kominlin Eba Marie Irene, Senator of Ivory Coast, Mrs. Lydie Omanga, Presidential Envoy of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mrs. Bokeleale Ebeta Rose Rose-Doree, National Agency for Promotion and Investment in DRC, Mr. Olivier Goga, President of Ascension Group of DRC, Mr. Christian Kovungbo, Director of the Ascension Group, Coordinator of the forum, Ms Mireille Sialli and the President of Ceps Francoise Larue.
