The newly accredited High Commissioner of Australia to Seychelles, Dr. Kate O’Shaughnessy, met with the Speaker of the National Assembly, Hon. Roger Mancienne on the morning of Wednesday 20th October 2021.

Hon. Mancienne welcomed Dr. O’Shaughnessy to the National Assembly and spoke of the various common interests that exists between the two countries. They discussed the existing areas of cooperation between the two countries and the areas in which Australia can assist Seychelles especially within the Indian ocean region.

The meeting also involved discussions on the dynamic development of the National Assembly and Dr. O’Shaughnessy congratulated Seychelles as one of the few countries taking a leading role in managing the COVID-19 Pandemic. They both discussed the remit of the Indian Ocean Rim Association and channels of cooperation and support within that forum.

Hon. Mancienne was accompanied by the Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, Ms. Alexandria Faure.
