The National Assembly approved the formation of a Select Committee namely "Committee on Government Response to Covid-19 Pandemic". The Committee’s Terms of Reference will be two-fold which is to perform ‘cross-party’ oversight over the Government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and offer proposals for post COVID – 19.
A function of Parliament is to hold the Government to account and to provide scrutiny over its policies and actions. The Committee will be engaging with the Executive and all concerned agencies and stakeholders in an inclusive consultation process to establish a clear road map on the post Covid19 challenges facing Seychelles.
The Committee is comprised of 7 Members namely Hon. Jean-Francois Ferrari as Chairperson, Hon. Waven William as Vice Chairperson and 5 ordinary Members Hon. Gervais Henrie, Hon. Flory Larue. Hon. Churchill Gill, Hon. Bernard Georges and Hon. Paul Ernesta.
