THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF SEYCHELLES SIGNS MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE KNESSET OF THE STATE OF ISRAEL

 

The Clerk to the National Assembly of Seychelles, Ms. Shelda Commettant and Director General of Knesset, Mr. Ronen Plot exchanging the signed Memorandum of UnderstandingA delegation from the Knesset of the State of Israel, headed by its Director General, Mr. Ronen Plot, who is the Head of Administration of the Knesset, is currently on a five-day visit to the National Assembly of Seychelles since Monday 28th March, 2016.

 

The aim of the visit is to initiate ties between the National Assembly of Seychelles and the Knesset. The two parliaments formalized their relationship through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding during a ceremony held at the National Assembly precinct on Wednesday 30th March, 2016. The Memorandum of Understanding which was signed by the Clerk to the National Assembly, Ms. Commettant and the Director General of Knesset, Mr. Plot aims to strengthen and further the cooperation between the two parliaments.The Speaker, Hon. The delegation also paid a courtesy call on the Speaker, Hon. Dr. Patrick Herminie on 28th March, 2016 at the National Assembly precinct. The discussion focused on strengthening the relations between the two parliaments with emphasis on sharing of experiences and best practices through parliamentary exchanges and capacity building programmes in the near future.

The delegation also had the opportunity to meet with the Principal Secretary for Environment, Mr. Alain De Commarmond to discuss efforts being made by the Seychelles in terms of environmental sustainability. Their visit also included a tour of Ile Perseverance Housing Project.
